INDIA - March 7 2006, Asad village, Mirzapur district, Uttar-Pradesh. CASHPOR Micro Credit employees visit remote villages where groups of women qualify for micro loans. The CASHPOR Rajatalad branch manager (Subnam, woman with white and orange sari) accompanied by the Center Manager who is assigned to the village (Pashant, man with light brown shirt) comes to the village to check on loan applicants and their planned loan utilisation as well as administer the Group Recognition Test (GRT) to a group of loan applicants. The GRT is the test that concludes a week-long one hour a day training by the village's assigned Center Manager. If the group passes the GRT and after three additional weekly meetings, the women will receive their loan disbursement checks. The women in this group failed to pass the GRT for lack of training. They will need to receive additional training and successfully pass the GRT before they can qualify for a loan.
